For 20 years, James Caraway framed custom homes. In 1997, he began timber framing construcion with one employee where all work was performed on site. Today, JMC Contracting performs much of its preparation in a 7500 square foot shop. With 21 employees, much of the work is still done by hand.jmcwebpics065
Every timber is hand-planed and hewed. Custom texturing and staining is also done by hand along with hand-cut mortise and tenons and dowels. JMC uses western red cedar, douglas fir, white pine and other vintage woods in timber framing construction. It is this attention to detail that gives charm and character to JMC’s craftsmanship.
